How to Adopt
Have a look at our Dogs Needing Homes page. When you see one that you think is right for you send a e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org giving details of the kind of home you can offer and the kind of dog you are looking for. Please note we no longer accept adoption interest via telephone, only by email.
We will then arrange a home visit to assess if the dog is suitable to your home environment, we use a volunteer group and this can take a few days as we are relying on people volunteering to help so please do be patient. Once the home visit is completed we will e-mail you with the results, sometimes we will suggest another dog if we feel they would suit your environment better. Once you have been and met the dogs and the homecheck has been done we cannot hang onto dogs for weeks as sadly we have a never ending list of dogs waiting to come in. Sadly we cannot reserve a dog for someone who cannot adopt immediately or haven’t had a home visit.
How much does it cost?
Once everyone is happy for the adoption to take place, you will be required to read through and sign an Adoption Contract. The contract will be re-read and signed by a witness in your presence to ensure all parties involved are happy. The Border Collie Spot have a minimum donation fee of £200 per dog or puppy, this is not a purchase price of a dog but a donation towards the care of rescue dogs at the centre, including vets bills, the purchase of food and the provision of safe and comfortable surroundings. Most of the dogs we rescue from farms have never seen a vet so we have to start from scratch with inoculations, microchipping and neutering.
